You will now need around 250 extra calories during your second trimester to support your growing baby. But what does that number of extra calories look like in terms of healthy food? It comes probably close to a poultry sandwich with an apple or a bowl of cereals with a banana. Getting these extra calories by eating nutritious meals and snacks from the five food groups will help your baby grow and develop healthily – both in your womb and in later life.
