One micronutrient especially important for pregnant women following a vegan diet – is Vitamin B12.  Since Vitamin B12 is found primarily in animal foods, such as meat, fish, eggs, milk, and cheese, it takes a bit more attention for vegans to meet their dietary needs.  This is why taking quality prenatal supplements is a great way to assure you are getting all the vitamins and minerals you need for a healthy pregnancy.

Of course, dietary supplements are not meant to replace a healthy diet, but to support one.
