Pregnancy Week 24
What is your blood sugar number? Most moms-to-be have a glucose-screening test between now and week 28. This test checks for gestational diabetes (GDM), a pregnancy-related high blood sugar level condition.
Nutrition Top Tip
If you find out you do have gestational diabetes, don’t panic! Most women with GDM do not continue to have diabetes immediately after their baby is born.
GDM can be managed with diet, exercise, and – if needed – medication. Your healthcare provider will come up with a plan that is tailor-made for you. When your blood glucose is under control, the majority of moms and babies continue to be healthy throughout pregnancy.
