Nutrition Top Tip – Week 29
During your last trimester, your energy needs increase by about 450-500 calories/day from what you ate before you were pregnant. These additional calories can be met with extra servings of foods from your regular meals, or with an additional snack. What does 450 calories look like? A bowl of fortified cereals or granola with milk and two tablespoons of raisins and a banana – or two scrambled eggs with toast and butter.
